Welcome to our FAQ section! Here, you'll find clear answers to common questions about our midwifery, educational classes, and natural health services. We aim to empower you with information. If your question isn't answered here, contact us directly. Your journey to wellness starts here!
What kind of midwifery care do you provide?
We offer holistic, culturally centered midwifery care grounded in the Midwives Model of Care™ and inspired by The JJ Way®. Our care includes prenatal visits, home birth support, postpartum care, and newborn care—each offered with respect for your individual needs, traditions, and choices.
Do you attend births in the hospital?
While we specialize in home birth midwifery, we also support families who plan to birth in the hospital by offering prenatal care, birth education, and postpartum support. Our Prenatal Care Package is ideal for those seeking midwifery-style care while planning for a hospital delivery.
What does “culturally centered care” mean?
Culturally centered care means we honor your identity, heritage, and traditions as a vital part of your health and birthing experience. We create space for your values, language, and lived experiences to be seen, heard, and integrated into your care.
Can I work with you if I’m not pregnant?
Absolutely. In addition to midwifery care, we offer a range of natural health services including preconception wellness, holistic nutrition planning, and individualized health coaching for all stages of life.
What if I’m not sure which service is right for me?
We recommend starting with a Wellness Consultation. It’s a low-cost, no-pressure opportunity to ask questions, share your goals, and learn more about how we can support you. If you choose to move forward, your consultation fee is applied to your next service.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, we do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide you with detailed receipts (superbills) that you may submit for reimbursement, depending on your plan. HSA/FSA cards are also accepted for many services.
Are payment plans or scholarships available?
Yes. We believe holistic care should be accessible. We offer payment plans for select services and partial scholarships for certain classes and trainings—particularly for BIPOC families and birth workers. Please reach out to discuss options.
Do you offer support for partners or other family members?
Yes—we honor birth and wellness as a family journey. Partners and chosen family are welcome in most appointments and classes. Our care includes guidance on how your support team can be involved in meaningful and affirming ways.
How early should I book services with you?
The earlier, the better! For midwifery care, we recommend booking by 10–12 weeks of pregnancy if possible, as space is limited. For classes, consultations, and health coaching, booking is flexible and ongoing.
Where are services provided?
Most midwifery and natural health visits are offered in the comfort of your home or at a designated community space. Some consultations and educational offerings are available virtually for your convenience.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that life happens—and flexibility is part of our care philosophy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice so that we may offer the spot to another family. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a $50 fee, and missed appointments without notice (no-shows) may be charged in full. Exceptions can be made for emergencies—please just communicate with us when you’re able.
What if I arrive late to my appointment?
We value your time and ours. If you arrive late, we’ll do our best to provide meaningful care within the remaining appointment time. However, please know that your session may be shortened to accommodate the next scheduled client. If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior communication, the appointment may be considered a no-show.
